About Replay Theater

Replay Theater is an Anthropic sample mod for reviewing a completed turn. It records file-edit tool calls, groups them by turn and lets you inspect the before-and-after differences one step at a time. It observes edits without blocking or rewriting them.

Records Edit, Write and MultiEdit calls.
Shows a per-step diff with previous and next controls.
Open the replay with /replay after a turn finishes.

How to install

Open the source documentation to check prerequisites and installation scope. Copy the commands below and run them one line at a time. Replace any example paths with the directory you intend to use.

claude plugin marketplace add ./claude-code-playground/claude-code/mods
claude plugin install replay-theater@claude-code-playground-mods

Requires Claude Code 2.1.287 or later. After installation, run /reload-plugins in the active session and check /plugin to confirm the mod loaded.

Complete any authentication or settings steps documented by the maintainer, then reload the session and confirm the capability is available. Entries in the same repository may share a parent plugin installation.

Getting started

Keep the sample repository in place after installation. Ask Claude for a small file change, then run /replay when the turn finishes. Use the controls to inspect each recorded edit.

Before you use it

Review the project instructions and requested tool access, then try a small task. This directory checks sources and setup notes; inclusion is not a code security audit.
