Let Claude Code navigate and inspect real browser pages through Playwright.
Playwright MCP exposes browser-automation tools to Claude Code through an MCP server. It lets an agent inspect a page and interact with browser controls as part of a task. It is useful for checking web flows or gathering information from pages, with the browser profile and active login state determining what the session can access.
Open the source documentation to check prerequisites and installation scope. Copy the commands below and run them one line at a time. Replace any example paths with the directory you intend to use.
Terminal
claude mcp add --transport stdio playwright -- npx -y @playwright/mcp@latestComplete any authentication or settings steps documented by the maintainer, then reload the session and confirm the capability is available. Entries in the same repository may share a parent plugin installation.
Register the MCP server and check that Claude Code can connect. Start with a public test page and a clear task, then review browser-profile settings before using authenticated sites.
Browser access may expose authenticated pages. Use a profile you trust.
